When Abbott Pharmaceuticals approached Custom Gyms, they had a clear vision — a modern, functional gym space designed to promote employee wellness and cater to all fitness levels. From concept to completion, we managed every detail of this bespoke fitout.
Step 1: Consultation & Design
We began with an in-depth consultation with Abbott’s facility team to understand their goals, space constraints, and equipment preferences. Our design team then created 3D layouts to visualize how the gym would flow, ensuring optimal space for cardio, strength training, and functional movement zones.
Step 2: Equipment Selection & Planning
Abbott selected a versatile mix of equipment, including treadmills, Concept rowers and bikes, Assault air bikes, squat racks with Olympic barbells, a dual cable machine, and premium benches. We also planned for smart storage solutions to keep the space clean and organised along with a 1m wide astro strip. See some of the main items used in the build below:

Step 3: Delivery & Installation
Our installation team coordinated a seamless delivery to minimize disruption on-site. Over a two-day installation, our technicians laid the flooring, assembled and positioned every piece of equipment, secured floor anchoring where needed, and ensured proper spacing for safety and usability.
Step 4: Final Inspection, Handover & ongoing Support
Before sign-off, we performed a full safety inspection, calibrated all machines, and esured all equipment was in working order.
